Thanksgiving is one of the most cherished holidays at Hope the Mission.
For the more than 3,000 guests in our care, it’s a day filled with mixed emotions... gratitude for the shelter and services they receive, but also a profound sense of loss, sadness, and longing.
No one envisions spending Thanksgiving in a homeless shelter, away from family and the comfort of a home-cooked meal.
This year, we’ll host a special Thanksgiving celebration in each of our 33 shelters, providing a traditional holiday meal with all the trimmings: oven-roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, salads, and, of course, pumpkin pie! No one will go hungry at Hope the Mission this Thanksgiving.
Preparing and serving over 3,000 Thanksgiving meals is no small task, and we can’t do it without the support of generous people like you.
